Q. Who should have a Health Watch Medical Alert System?

A. Anyone who lives alone, anyone with a medical condition and every home with young children.

Q. Who will I reach when I push the Health Watch Emergency Button?

A. You will reach one of our trained Emergency Operators at our Central Monitoring Station. Our operators are always prepared to get you the help you need when you need it --- 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Q. What type of information will the Emergency Operators have access to?

A. The information that you give to us; medical history, medications, allergies, existing conditions and the names and phone numbers of the people you put on your "designated contact call list".

Q. How does this information help speed up the emergency response process?

A. Before the rescue squad reaches your home, our operator will give them your medical information and/or any special instructions that you provide. This way the rescue squad will already know what medical issues they are dealing with when they arrive at your home.

Q. Who will be notified when I have a problem?

A. Our operators will notify only the people you put on your "designated contact call list” (loved ones, doctor, and friends).

Q. Why is a Health Watch Alert System better than dialing 911 or the operator?

A. Because you're not always near a telephone or able to get to the telephone. Just press the pendent or wristband and we will be able to get you the help you need when you need it. We will then notify your love ones that a medical alert has been activated.

Q. How far away from the Base Unit can I be to activate the medical alert system?

A. Our pendants and wristbands can activate the system from anywhere in your home or yard (up to a distance of approximately 150 ft).

Q. Can I wear the pendant or wristband in the shower or bathtub?

A. Yes. Our pendants and wristbands are waterproof; they can be worn in the shower or bathtub.

Q. What if I move?

A. If you move, the equipment can move with you and be reconnected.

Q. Is there a lot of equipment involved?

A. No. Our system consists of an Emergency Button that is worn as a pendant or a wristband, and a Base Unit that plugs into the telephone line.

Q. What if I press the button by mistake?

A. It’s not a problem. When the operator speaks to you through the base unit, simply inform them that you accidently pressed the button, but most importantly tell them that you are OK and Do Not need help.

Q. Will the Health Watch Medical Alert System affect my telephone service?

A. No. Our equipment and service have no adverse effect on your phone service. It uses the phone line only when you call for help.

Q. How can I be sure the Health Watch Medical Alert System is working?

A. The system automatically tests itself daily and if there is a problem, a report is sent to our Central Monitoring Station. For your peace of mind, you may perform your own test, at any time, by pressing the emergency button and informing our trained operators that you are just testing your system.
